Founded in 1964, Reston is a uniquely designed planned residential development located in the heart of Northern VA. The community is known across the world for its innovative design in which residents are able to both work and play right where they live. Planners found ways for residents to better connect with each other and it’s proven to be a resounding success.

Founder Robert E. Simon’s vision for Reston was to offer every type of housing, so the community could welcome all homebuyers no matter what stage of life they were in. Reston offers a unique combination of single-family homes and multi-unit housing complexes situated among a variety of commercial buildings and shopping centers. Just as Reston was designed to do, it offers people of any lifestyle a variety of entertainment and dining options. Reston Town Center is the neighborhood hotspot that attracts visitors from the D.C. metro area. There’s a great outdoor mall with many different shops, restaurants, an outdoor concert venue, modern movie theater, and even an ice-skating rink. Whether you want to make a quick fast food run or enjoy a leisurely fine dining experience, you have plenty of options. In terms of culture, Reston has a lovely museum and two wonderful art galleries.
