What's Up Wednesday- June 10, 2020

What's Up Wednesday - 6/10/2020-  What does the increase in the number of new listings and the number of homes going under contract mean for the summer market?

Last week, we saw an interesting jump in both the number of new listings coming on the market and the number of houses that went under contract.  As the area is starting to reopen, it seems like some who were sitting on the sidelines are starting to dip their toes back into the real estate pool.

In Loudoun County, 257 new listings came on the market. This was a 10% increase from the next best week since lockdown started.  201 homes went under contract, which was an 18% increase.

In Fairfax County, 628 new listings came on the market. This was a 15% increase from the next best week since lockdown started. 430 homes went under contract, which was an 8% increase.

Is this a sign that our summer market will be bustling? We will continue to keep you updated on the numbers!
