What's Up Wednesday - 7/08/2020-  What happened in the Northern Virginia real estate market in June?

The summer market is bustling so today we are going to take a look at the numbers for the month of June.

Since the pandemic started, the data showed that sale prices were up while the total number of sales were way down. While June's total number of sales still lag behind last year, the numbers are headed in the right direction. For perspective, in Loudoun County in May, the number of sales was down 30% from last year, but in June, the number of sales was down 10% from last year. In Fairfax County in May, the number of sales was down 32% from last year, but in June, the number of sales was down 18%. Those are some big month over month improvements! Prices continued to hold steady in June with a 2% increase in the median sale price in Loudoun County and a 4% increase in Fairfax County.
