Ashburn Farm

Ashburn Farm is a residential community, a beautifully planned development consisting of 1,274 acres of land in Ashburn, Virginia, which is located in Loudoun County not far from the Dulles Greenway. Ashburn Farm is among the more established neighborhoods in the county as a result of the Ashburn Farm Partnership formed in 1986 to create planned communities. Soon thereafter Cavalier Land Development Corporation began construction after designing the community to fit in nicely with the rolling terrain, with plenty of winding roads and a lot of trees.

Ashburn Farm is bordered on the north by the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad trail, which is a historic site. The first home in the development was bought in 1988. Most of the land where Ashburn Farm is situated was at one time the Gray Dairy Farm, and the town’s rural heritage can still be felt today. An old windmill was salvaged from the Gray Estate, to be restored and placed next to the “Ohio Buckeye” tree, which is near the community center and HOA’s offices.

There are many nice amenities in Ashburn Farm that contribute to the feeling of a relaxed fun community, including three different swimming pools (Breezy Hill Pool, Summerwood Pool, and Windmill Pool), with each having its own clubhouse. Additionally, residents are able to enjoy 2 baseball diamonds, 2 soccer fields, 8 basketball courts, and 12 tennis courts all within Greg Crittenden Memorial Park, which spans 16 acres. Another wonderful place for residents to relax and enjoy is Trailside Park, which has 19 tot lots, a beach volleyball court, a roller hockey rink, and five ponds. Some of the ponds are stocked with fish and residents are allowed to fish there as long as they release the fish they catch.

Community events are held at a covered outdoor pavilion that spans 10,000 square feet and is open all year long. This is the setting for the community’s Summer Kickoff, which features a fireworks display over Windmill Pond. All of these amenities and common areas are covered by the HOA fees, which also cover limited snow removal, recycling, yard waste and trash removal. Despite all this, the HOA fees are one of the lowest in all of Ashburn. Ashburn Regional Library is located right in Ashburn Farm, making it convenient for all residents, but is especially for the children in the community who attend Loudoun County Public Schools, which are outstanding. The school district’s administrative offices are in the neighboring community of Broadlands, also in Ashburn.
