As a 25-year resident of Northern Virginia, Lara enjoys helping families find their perfect home in the communities she knows so well!
Lara is a native of Baltimore County, Maryland, and found her way to Virginia thanks to attending James Madison University to study Mass Communications. After a 3-year stint in Charlottesville, VA, as a television reporter for NBC29, Lara and her husband relocated to Northern Virginia for
job opportunities in the technology and video production industries.
Lara and her husband have two sons and have enjoyed spending their children’s youth at the area ice rinks as their boys pursued their love of ice hockey. She is also a breast cancer survivor. Since diagnosis and successful treatment, Lara founded the charity event The October Saves Goalie Challenge to support cancer research and has become a member of The Inova Schar Cancer Institute advisory board. She is also a volunteer for the Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps.
Lara loves the Northern Virginia community and is happy to share her deep knowledge of the area to help home buyers and renters find their dream home!
See what some of Lara's past clients have said about working with her:
"My husband and I just bought our first home ever with the help of Lara Hopewell and the team at Spear Realty Group. Everyone buying a home in Northern Virginia knows that this market is intimidating and feels impossible. From the start, Lara was encouraging but realistic. She helped us make aggressive offers and be competitive. We found our dream home in a little less than a month! Lara was extremely responsive to our emails and phone calls, and she was was absolutely wonderful to work with. The disappointing part about closing on our home is that we don't get to spend weekends with Lara anymore. Anyone shopping in the area would be very fortunate to have her on their team!" - Rachael U.
